Steel Plate

Mild steel plate is a flat, rectangular or square piece of steel that's thicker than 1/4 inch and is used in many industries: 

• Construction: Used to add strength and support to concrete in buildings and other structures

Mild steel plate is made from low-carbon steel, which is created by smelting iron and coal in a blast furnace. It's often combined with chromium and molybdenum to increase its strength and corrosion resistance.

Mild steel plate is reactive and will rust in the presence of water, oxygen, and ions. To extend its design life, it must be protected from the elements.
